“I’ve got confidence” shown in the first world tour
Group IVE (Jang Wonyoung, Ahn Yujin, Gaeul, Ray, Lee Seo, Liz) showed confidence ahead of their first world tour. They pledged to show the world who they truly are, “IVE itself”.
On the 8th, IVE held their first world tour, “Show What I Have,” at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. “Show What I Have” will take place in approximately 19 countries and 27 cities, starting from Korea and extending to Japan, Asia, America, Europe, and South America. The schedule will be announced later.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the new unit combinations of the members and their first mini-album, “IVE Mine.” “IVE Mine” conveys the message of self-assurance that IVE felt. Composed of the truffle titles “Either Way,” “Off the record,” and “Baddie,” this album contains a total of 6 songs, including the additional tracks “Holy Moly,” “OTT,” and “Payback.”
“Either Way” represents me from the perspective of others, “Off the record” represents the self we discovered in each other, and “Baddie” represents another side of myself that I found. IVE’s lyrics for the previous songs have been praised for expressing their own thoughts. Once again, they aim to continue on a similar path and protect IVE’s identity. Ahn Yujin revealed that through this album project, she reflected on herself and said, “Don’t we all have moments when we don’t know ourselves well? Every time that happens, I have conversations with the producer and many staff members. Through that process, I discover the way to express myself. I have gained a lot of self-esteem and confidence.”
She also stated, “This album is the first to be presented with a triple title track. I prepared with both worries and excitement. I made an effort to showcase three different charms through the triple title tracks, and I think they were well captured. I want IVE to be remembered as IVE itself in the future,” showing her confidence.
The title track stage presented at this concert, just like his words, was shocking. Ivy, always equipped with fast rhythm, captivated listeners’ ears with stimulating music. This is also one of the reasons why “Eleven,” “Love Dive,” and “I Am” were successful. The song that Ivy gave a variation to is “Kitsch.” The lyrics maintain Ivy’s provocative attitude, but the melody is relatively smooth and calm, making it a challenging song for Ivy.
The title track of “Ivy Mine,” which will be released later, expanded their challenge. The previously released “Off the Record” and “Ether Way” progress at a slower tempo than “Kitsch,” but Ivy’s concerns are clearly felt. The stage presented at the concert also has a similar feeling. These efforts ultimately created the “Ivy itself,” as they themselves said.
As it was their first solo world tour, Ivy also presented unit stages. In autumn and Lay, they express a hip vibe through Ariana Grande, Lee Hi, and Crush’s songs. Jang Won-young and Lee Sae-rin show off their vocal skills through Richard Sanderson’s “Reality,” while Ahn Yu-jin and Lee Seo perform with Little Mix’s song. As they said, “The world tour was our dream,” “We achieved our dream in just two years since debut,” the stage is filled with Ivy’s heart.
Ivy, who is simultaneously conducting a comeback and a world tour, continues to lead the way among the 4th generation idols, and it is anticipated what kind of appearance they will show in the future.
