BTS member Jimin’s first self-composed song ‘Promise’ has gained popularity with over 331 million streams on SoundCloud.

‘Promise’, which holds two Guinness World Records as a self-composed song by Jimin, surpassed 331 million streams on SoundCloud, the world’s largest music sharing platform, on September 23.

With this achievement, ‘Promise’ has once again set a new record for the most streams on SoundCloud, becoming the most streamed track within 24 hours and the most streamed song on the platform of all time. It was officially recognized by Guinness.

Especially upon its release, the Australian music magazine referred to Jimin as the ‘BTS FRONTMAN’ due to the explosive popularity of the song. This gained significant attention from media outlets worldwide, and since reaching the top spot on the 2021 SoundCloud streaming chart, Jimin has firmly established himself as the ‘King of SoundCloud’.

Following this, the song was officially released on music sites in March of this year, thanks to the steady love from fans. It reached the number one spot on the Worldwide iTunes ‘Top Songs’ chart and topped the iTunes chart in 60 countries around the world.

Furthermore, it climbed to the 18th spot on the Billboard ‘Digital Song Sales’ chart and made its debut at number two on the ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart, staying on the chart for four weeks. It also achieved explosive reactions in various countries around the world, including reaching the number one spot on the Japanese Oricon ‘Daily Digital Singles’ chart and the number two spot on the Billboard Japan ‘Download’ chart.

Jimin has set three Guinness World Records, including being the fastest K-pop solo artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify and achieving two more records with ‘Promise.’ He continues to break records and showcase the global success of Korean-language songs, surpassing the boundaries of K-pop.
