TWICE, ‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’ MV Surpasses 100 Million Views
The group TWICE has once again set a new record by surpassing 100 million views on YouTube with their music video for ‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’.
TWICE’s original English single, ‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’, exceeded 100 million views on YouTube at 11:29 PM on the 15th. With this achievement, TWICE has placed all 17 of their promotional songs from their debut track ‘OOH-AHH’ to ‘Talk that Talk’, as well as their 4 Japanese releases and their first English single ‘The Feels’ and ‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’, in the top ranks of videos with over 100 million views. They have now established the record for the most music videos with over 100 million views among all girl groups worldwide. Additionally, Nayeon’s solo debut track ‘POP!’ has also surpassed 200 million views, drawing attention to TWICE’s continuous global popularity.
‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’ is a Miami-based pop song that expresses the emotions and excitement felt when in love through the metaphor of the moonlight and rising sun. The hitmakers, earattack and Lee Woo-hyun, participated in the lyrics, composition, and arrangement, while Nina Ann Nelson and Kaedi Dalley from the American a cappella female group, Citizen Queen, contributed to the lyrics and composition, enhancing the overall quality of the song.
Recently, TWICE was the only K-pop girl group to be featured on Rolling Stone’s list of “The Best Albums of 2023 So Far” with their mini-album ‘READY TO BE’. Rolling Stone praised the album, saying, “They broke stereotypes and demolished musical barriers. TWICE, the most acclaimed group in the K-pop market, showcases their confidence.” This garnered much attention.
Meanwhile, TWICE is currently on their fifth world tour, performing in 25 cities and 44 concerts worldwide. Their tour includes Bangkok, Thailand on September 23rd-24th, Bulacan, Philippines on September 30th-October 1st, Melbourne, Australia on November 4th, Nagoya, Japan on December 16th-17th, Jakarta, Indonesia on December 23rd, Fukuoka, Japan on December 27th-28th, Mexico City, Mexico on February 2nd-3rd, and São Paulo, Brazil on February 6th-7th.
