“Global girl group first and most”.. BLACKPINK, shining with 2.11 million fans on their ‘World Tour’
BLΛƆKPIИK (BLACKPINK) has colored the world with pink through their global journey. It is a journey that truly proves their position as irreplaceable ‘world-class’ artists, befitting their title [BORN PINK].
According to YG Entertainment on the 20th, BLACKPINK’s [BORN PINK] tour, which took place in 34 cities over the course of about a year starting from October last year, drew a total of 1.8 million viewers, making it the largest-scale tour by a K-pop girl group. The tour attracted 55,000 fans in Seoul, 540,000 in North America, 215,000 in Europe, 900,000 in Asia, 50,000 in Oceania, and 40,000 in the Middle East. They also stood as the headliners at the Coachella Festival in the United States (with a total of 250,000 attendees) and Hyde Park in the UK (65,000 attendees), breathing with a total of 2.11 million fans.
# “First and foremost”.. BLACKPINK’s first records
BLACKPINK, who has been walking the path of firsts since their debut, has achieved another remarkable feat this time. In North America, they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Oracle Park in San Francisco, and Dodger Stadium in LA. In New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium and Mexico City’s Foro Sol, they adorned the stage for two days, making BLACKPINK the only Korean girl group to do so. In Europe, they planted the flag as the first K-pop girl group at the Stade de France in Paris through an encore performance.
They also set significant milestones in Asia and the Middle East. Following their stadium performances in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam as the first K-pop idols, BLACKPINK became the first global female artists to hold a concert at the Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and the Rajamangala National Stadium in La Châùm Nalăi, Laos. In Singapore, they set a new record as the K-pop artist with the highest number of local attendees.
In the United Arab Emirates, they were recognized as the first K-pop artists to perform at the Etihad Park in Abu Dhabi, and in Saudi Arabia, they held a solo concert at the Riyadh BLVD International Festival Site, becoming the first global girl group to do so, pioneering a new path in the Middle Eastern music market. They confidently entered the largest indoor concert venue in Korea, the Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome, rewriting the history of girl groups and creating a new chapter in the K-pop market.

[BORN PINK] has expanded beyond a simple performance and has become a festival concept where people can enjoy and exchange trends in various aspects of culture through BLACKPINK’s music. The various pop-up stores installed in major cities around the world provided a wide range of entertainment, and local fans spontaneously enjoyed random play dances.
Major city centers were adorned with banners and pink lighting to welcome BLACKPINK. In particular, the O2 Arena in London was the first concert venue to illuminate its exterior with lighting, while Las Vegas in the United States and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia organized special events where landmark buildings in the city were illuminated in pink. It was a moment that proved BLACKPINK’s global influence transcending gender, age, and culture both inside and outside the concert venue through [BORN PINK].

The success of this tour was made possible by BLACKPINK and YG staff who aimed to present a perfect performance to BLINK (fandom name) worldwide, as well as top staff from domestic and international teams who put in their sweat. YG stated, “Considering the diverse environments and variables of each country, we focused on the essence of the performance and spent over a month in pre-production and rehearsal periods,” and mentioned that “above all, artists actively provided opinions and a significant number of ideas were incorporated.”
