YG Treasure, breaks 1.71 million album sales → officially enters Tokyo Dome in Japan
5 cities, 20 large-scale tours.. Major downtown pop-up stores are also announced.
YG Treasure is set to achieve a career high following the release of their second full-length album 'REBOOT' as they enter the "dream stage" known as Tokyo Dome.
YG Entertainment announced on the 4th that Treasure will hold their first Japan fan meeting tour, "2023 TREASURE FAN MEETING~HELLO AGAIN~TOKYO DOME SPECIAL" on November 12 at the Tokyo Dome. The special performance was added due to the overwhelming response after the previously announced fan meeting was sold out.
As this is Treasure's first fan meeting tour since their official debut in Japan in March 2021, their entry into the Tokyo Dome stage demonstrates the strong local fandom the group has garnered. Local media outlets, including Billboard Japan, have given significance to this news, calling Treasure the "first Korean artist to enter the Tokyo Dome with their first fan meeting tour in Japan."
Treasure will perform a total of 20 Japan fan meetings in five cities, including the Tokyo Dome special performance. Starting on September 2-3 at the Fukuoka International Center, the group will perform at various venues, such as the Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo Prefecture from September 8-10, the Yokohama PIA Arena MM from September 16-18, the Nagoya Aichi Prefecture International Exhibition Hall from September 23-24, and the Tokyo Ariake Arena from September 30 to October 1, culminating in a spectacular finale at the Tokyo Dome on November 12.
Additionally, expectations are high for Treasure's continued success in Japan following their second full-length album comeback.
Previously, 'REBOOT' reached number one on the Circle Chart album category, selling a total of 1.71 million copies, including domestic sales and exports to Asia and North America.
YG stated that "while the demand in the Asian region has increased after the successful tour, the Japanese market has seen a significant surge," and added that "with major projects such as fan meeting tours and pop-up stores in key cities in the works, we expect sales to continue to grow."
Treasure has steadily increased in popularity in Japan. Earlier this year, the group set a new record for the most audience members (about 300,000) for a K-pop artist's first Japan tour, and their recent second full-length album title track 'BONA BONA' has been loved by fans as it maintains its high ranking on various music sites even after a week since its release.
Meanwhile, after successfully performing their first comeback stage through Mnet's 'M Countdown' on the 3rd, Treasure will also appear on various music shows such as MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 5th and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 6th. They will continue to actively promote through various channels, including radio and variety shows.
