New Jeans's 'Super Shy' ranked 61st on the UK Official Singles Chart for four consecutive weeks.
NewJeans, a girl group consisting of Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein, has shown its influence on the UK Official Chart following the Billboard chart in the US.
According to the latest UK Official Chart (as of August 4), released on the 4th (local time), NewJeans' new song 'Super Shy' rose to 61st place on the single chart top 100 and remained on the chart for four consecutive weeks. This song had previously hit its own personal best ranking of 52nd on this chart the week before. 'Super Shy' is one of the triple title tracks on the mini-album 'Get Up', which was released on the 7th of last month.
'Get Up' ranked 38th on the album chart. 'Get Up' debuted last week on this chart at 15th place. NewJeans set a record of being the second K-pop girl group to enter the UK Official Album Chart.
NewJeans is also steadily gaining popularity on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify. 'Super Shy' ranked 17th on the Spotify Global Weekly Top Songs (as of August 3) and 34th on the Spotify US Weekly Top Songs, remaining on both charts for four consecutive weeks.
'New Jeans', which was released as a lead single along with 'Super Shy', and the other title tracks 'ETA' and 'Cool With You' also ranked on the charts.
Based on such popularity, NewJeans placed its mini-album 'Get Up' at the top of the US 'Billboard 200' and placed three album title tracks on the 'Hot 100' without any special local activities, achieving this success within a year of their debut.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd, NewJeans participated in the large-scale US music festival 'Lollapalooza Chicago' as the first K-pop girl group and received a favorable response from the audience by performing a total of 12 songs from their debut to their recent release.
