‘K-Pop Pride’ BTS Jimin’s ‘Like Crazy’, Spotify’s shortest K-Pop solo to reach 400 million.. sets new solo record again.
BTS member Jimin’s solo song ‘Like crazy’ has set a new record in the history of K-pop solo songs by reaching 400 million streams at the fastest speed.
On August 3rd, Jimin’s ‘Like crazy’ surpassed 400 million streams on the world’s largest music platform, Spotify, in just 133 days, setting a new record for K-pop solo artists.
According to Spotify on August 8th, “Like crazy” achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing 600 million streams, with the original version accumulating 4,142,271,133 streams and the English version accumulating 1,861,116,000 streams.
Despite being released on March 24th, “Like Crazy” continues to receive a lot of love, ranking 30th on the global Spotify chart as of August 9th and staying in the ‘Top 50’ chart for 128 days, making it the K-pop solo song with the longest charting period.
It also boasts the most streaming among K-pop solo songs on Spotify in the United States, and as of the 9th, has been on the daily chart of Spotify US for 73 days, setting the record for the longest charting period for a non-English K-pop song in the US and proving how much love Korean K-pop can receive even in English-speaking countries, adding to the pride of K-pop fans.
Meanwhile, on the 5th, Jimin appeared as a guest on member Suga’s encore concert stage after completing his short first solo album activities, and showcased two songs, “Tony Montana” and “Like Crazy”, with perfect live and fantastic performances, receiving a warm welcome and causing a buzz by becoming the number one worldwide Twitter trend.
