BTS’s Jimin achieves 20 consecutive weeks on the Billboard chart… ‘Global Long Run’
BTS member Jimin showed off his strong solo power by charting on the US Billboard chart for 20 consecutive weeks.
Jimin’s solo debut album ‘FACE’ ranked 11th on the Billboard ‘World Album’ chart on August 19. He set a new record by charting for 20 consecutive weeks, surpassing his own previous record of 19 weeks for the longest Korean solo album charting.
‘FACE’, which debuted at number 1 on the chart, set a record as the first Korean solo album to top the chart for 4 consecutive weeks and record the longest ‘Top 10’ on the Korean solo album chart for 17 weeks. In addition, it surpassed the longest Asian solo album charting record released in 2023 with its 20 consecutive weeks on the chart.
In the ‘Top Current Album Sales’, Jimin’s popularity shows no signs of cooling down as he succeeds in reverse-running to 60th place, up by four steps from last week, and continues to thrive on the charts for 20 consecutive weeks.
The title track ‘Like Crazy’, shining at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, displays a formidable strength by rising six steps to 64th place on the ‘Global 200’, recording the highest sales in the history of Korean solo singers, and 41st place on the ‘Global (excluding the US)’ chart, maintaining its chart presence for 20 consecutive weeks.
Jimin continues to enjoy popularity on charts around the world, not just in the US. In the Billboard Vietnam Hot 100 chart, ‘Like Crazy’ achieved a great feat by maintaining a spot in the top 10 for 18 consecutive weeks, ranking fifth this week and breaking the record for the longest charting solo song from Korea week after week, demonstrating overwhelming presence.
In addition, on the ‘Top Physical Albums’ chart compiled by the French Recording Industry Association (SNEP), ‘Face’, which debuted at third place, succeeded in reverse-running for two consecutive weeks, settling at 126th place, up by 19 steps from last week, and achieving the joy of 20 consecutive weeks on the chart, allowing Jimin’s solo power to be felt locally.
Since its release in March, ‘Like Crazy’, which achieved over 920,000 sales in the US alone and became the most successful K-pop solo song, along with ‘Face’, has been steadily reigning on music charts around the world for over four months.
