군백기 없다..방탄소년단 ‘봄날’ 6년 만 역주행, 83개 지역 깜짝 1위 그룹 방탄소년단(BTS, RM 진 슈가 제이홉 지민 뷔 정국)의 ‘봄날’이 6년 만에 또 한번 글로벌 차트를 강타했다. 지난 13일 일본 오리콘 차트가 발표한 ‘데일리 디지털 싱글 랭킹'(12월 12일 자)에서 방탄소년단이 2017년 발매한 ‘WINGS 외전: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE’의 타이틀곡 ‘봄날’이 깜짝 1위에 올랐다. 이 차트의 순위권 밖에 자리했던 ‘봄날’이 순위가 급상승하며 1위로 직행한 것이다. 또한 ‘봄날’은 12일부터 14일 오전 8시까지 기준으로 미국, 일본, 독일, 영국, 프랑스 등을 비롯해 총 83개 국가/지역의 아이튠즈 ‘톱 송’ 차트 1위를 찍었다. 다수의 국가/지역 ‘톱 송’ 차트에서 연말을 맞아 캐럴(Carol) 장르가 강세를 보이는 가운데, 머라이어 캐리(Mariah Carey)의 메가 히트곡 ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’를 제치고 ‘봄날’이 차트 정상에 올라 눈길을 끈다. 이 같은 ‘봄날’의 역주행에는 아미(ARMY. 팬덤명)의 저력이 있었다. 지난 12일부로 전원 군 복무에 돌입한 방탄소년단의 오는 2025년 완전체 활동을 기다리는 팬들의 따뜻한 마음이 차트에 반영된 것으로 예상된다. 한편, ‘봄날’은 브릿 록(Brit-rock)적인 감성과 일렉트로닉 사운드가 결합된 얼터너티브 힙합(Alternative hip-hop) 장르의 곡으로, RM과 슈가가 작곡에 참여해 멀어진 친구와의 만남을 기다리며 희망을 잃지 않겠다는 메시지를 곡에 담았다. BTS Jimin’s ‘Serendipity’ Revisited.. An Eternal K-Pop Art Performance
BTS’s Jimin’s beautiful stage, which is like an art piece, once again made fans’ hearts flutter.
Recently, on Mnet’s ‘Queendom Puzzle’, the opening scene of Jimin’s solo song ‘Serendipity’ from BTS’s album was featured as a reference for the stage concept, gathering the attention of viewers and fans.
At the time of the broadcast, Jimin explained, “If we install a set like this for the Island stage, we can beautifully stage a scene of singing inside a transparent set,” along with a photo of himself sitting inside a snow globe. Not only did he receive sympathetic responses, but the team that actually designed the stage also paid homage by mimicking the gesture of breaking the snow globe with their hands.
Kim Sang-wook PD (BTS concert, fan meeting director), who previously directed the “Serendipity” stage, saw a fan art of Jimin inside a soap bubble and ended up throwing soap bubbles at overseas concerts. After seeing Jimin popping a soap bubble with his finger during a song, he mentioned changing the direction and completing the scene of Jimin popping out of a large soap bubble.
This opening scene maximizes Jimin’s beautiful voice and mysterious visual, captivating both the eyes and ears. Starting with a calm introduction, Jimin starts moving and when he touches the transparent curtain with his finger, it collapses and a lovely fairy from a fairy tale comes to life as if coming out into reality.
‘Serendipity’ has been highly anticipated for its high level of artistry, with Jimin’s elegant dance line flowing like water along with its unique and dreamy melody, and especially after BTS’s 2019 concert in Sao Paulo, where the local media praised Jimin’s ‘Serendipity’ stage as the ‘highlight of the concert’.
Jimin’s solo stage has always been a major issue, captivating global fans with high-difficulty, beautiful performances and vocals that surpass K-pop and can be called performance art, and has become a stage that inspires and moves many artists, securing a place in the textbooks of domestic and foreign idols.
